To be trusted is a greater compliment than to be loved.
The world is built up in the foundation of trust.
And it's good to have the feeling of trust from your surroundings.
When I was an expat in India,
I used to buy coke or chocolate from a small grocery shop nearby our office.
A coke bottle would cost you roughly Rs. 25 (around 10.5 NTD) for a 250 ml bottle,
& believe me, you cannot find this kinds of miniature coke can outside of India.
I visited this shop almost every day, it gives me a refreshment not only quenches my thirst but also refresh my soul.
It also gives me a moment of break after a hustle & bustle of office life in Mumbai.
I usually take this break time to practice my Hindi with shop owner.
Me: Yeeska kya hain? (What's this?)
Owner: Coke hain. (This is coke.)
Me: Kitana, Bhai? (How much is it?)
Owner: Pachchees rupee. (25 rupee.)
There's one time, I forgot to bring enough coins,
so I gave a paper banknote of 100 rupee for an exchange of a coke (25 rupee).
The owner looked at me & smiled: You can pay me back in your next bill.
That time, I felt the power of trust & indeed heartwarming & touching experience that he trusted on me.
Just imagine the cost of living without trust, business without trust, a relationship without trust...etc.
We will end up going to grocery stores to check each food's ingredients to see if there's toxic ingredients included.
We will keep a social distance & a radar signal for those who are within 3 meters radius of our selves to avoid any potential body harm.
When we pay the bill at the counter, both the shop staff and customer will check the banknote one by one to prevent
any fake banknotes.
And we would need to sign a lot of contract paper before we leave the grocery store.
The purchase journey would be quite time consuming.
The world will operate in an inefficient way.
Diving. Diving is the sport that you need to fully trust your underwater life partner.
Rule #1: Never dive alone, even you are the expert & 200% familiar with water zone.
Every diver will be equipped with 2 regulators - second stage (breathing regulator).
One for use, one for emergency to support yourself & your dive buddy.
We will spare our extra oxygen underwater when it comes to emergency.
And that's the sports where we will not find in others.
Underwater, it's a matter of life & death.
And I cherish the friendship of life & death at that very special moment.
It's indeed good to have a dive buddy as a companionship in the diving journey.
That's how I fall in love head over heels with diving.
