You are the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with.
We've probably heard it a lot from Youtube TED motivational speakers,
but we have never uncover its true meaning beyond words & continuously to live the way we do unconsciously.
There are 2 types of friends I spend the most time with.
One are those who spend most of their money on traveling & believe that YOLO (You only live once),
money can buy anything but not your time.
Those who believe from early 20th to 30th is the golden decade of one's life & should fully broaden their horizon.
They would spend all their annual leave on travel & try every possibility of activities, like scuba diving, free diving, snorkeling, surfing,
island hopping, sky diving… to know what they love & what they dislike.
The other one are those striving to become the best in their professional field or industry.
I always invite the top notch to have dinner together as I want to become one of them.
Whether it’s getting a CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) in investment professionals or pursue an oversea MBA degree on better oversea position
or A+ companies. They have a goal in mind, and never complain on something they can't influence (circle of concern).
I am very thankful that I have met my good roommate in India who always work hard & play hard.
It's indeed a wonderful travel experience with him to explore the world.
What he had taught me is: "Everyone knows India is tough as hell, but you definitely can live in India & enjoy as you were in heaven,
depends on how you want to live a life. Don't let poverty (in mind) leads to the limitation on your imagination."
As Steve Jobs mentioned: "You can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards.
So you have to TRUST that dots will somehow connect in your future."
I have chosen an oversea job because I have an oversea exchange experience in China & Singapore in my college life.
Prior to that, I have got the admission letter from China & Singapore University as I was surrounded with foreign exchange friends
& there are some know how tips shared by them.
Surrounded with colleagues from multiple nation background, I believe my future partner will share the same background.
Everything is like dots connected to each other.
One day, when I woke up from bed & started scrolling on Facebook post.
There's a lot of notifications jumping out where I found very annoying.
Most of my time gone waste on those we so called "friends" which I put less care with,
some of Facebook friends I have not even spoken with, some are just randomly added in random occasion.
To improve my time efficiency, I decided to delete half of my Facebook friends list,
so every post on Facebook from my friends means something to me. But I believe if Facebook keeps jumping out on sponsored ads,
sooner or later I will give up on logging my accounts XD
Be discreet about your selection on friends.
You will eventually become the one where you spend most of your time with.
So choose your love and then love your choice.
