The 1st time I’ve heard of this cafe is from a famous blog - YaoIndia, describing nearby tourist sites around Agra.

 

I wasn’t not aware what was going on till I reached there.

 

It stunned me how much the picture overrode any impression you could have of how they had spent their entire

career after acid attacks & how they overcome all these unfriendly looks by others.

All the suffering and detailed in story made me nearly in tears.

 

Most of the reported acid attack cases are the refusal of arranged marriages.

Some are family dispute, jealousy on ones property, or ones being accused of possessed by an evil spirit,

or even simply that wife didn’t give birth to a son after having 5 daughters.

 

All the waitress here are part of acid attack victims.

Against all odds, they choose to stand out & with a vision on bringing long term positive effects of education.

Whatever the donations or revenue generated from this cafe will be going to support the education

funds of survivors & their children.

 

They believe that education is undoubtedly a key element contributing to empowerment.

 

I sincerely hope that it can raise more awareness & attentions that acid attacks are common social issue and shouldn’t be ignored!
