This is my 20th day in Vietnam after being quaratined 14 days from hotel.
I would like to share my thoughts on top 9 reasons why I choose to work in Vietnam.
No. 1 - Work Life Balance
There's no peer pressure when it comes to office timing.
We don't need to conform to "boss off-duty hour" or forced to stay overtime.
By the time the sun goes down the horizon, half of the office lights are turned off.
The clock is yours.
No. 2 - Culture Similarity between Vietnam & Taiwan
In Taiwan, we celebrate Chinese Lunar New Year.
In Vietnam, they celerbrate "Tết Nguyên Đán (節元旦)", also known as Vietnamese Lunar New Year.
Everyone cheers for "Feast of the First Morning of the First Day"
We both celebrate & follow traditional Lunar Calendar & share the same festival together.
No. 3 - Relatively Easy to learn Vietnamese
60% of Vietnamese share the similar pronounciation as Mandarin or Mandarin dialect.
Those vocabulary are commonly recognized as "Sino-Vietnamese (漢越字)", Từ Hán Việt.
There are layer of words in Vietnamese languages borrowed from ancient Chinese.
Ex: 請聯繫, Xin Liên Hệ, Please Contact.
No. 4 - Affordable Food & Commodity, Low Cost of Living
Everything compared with Taiwan, is 30% discount!
2 km distance by Grab/ GoJek motorbike ride would cost you @ VND 12,000 (NTD 14).
A famouse Pho Bo (Beef Pho) would cost you @ VND 45,000 (NTD 54).
Can't wait to feed myself with tons of food & drinks.
No. 5 - Abundant Night Life in Ho Chi Minh City
Ho Chi Minh City, also known as Saigon, is a city that wouldn't let you down.
Tired of sitting in the office whole day & need some stretch?
Find a nearby Spa "Miu Miu" & calls it a day!
Need to hangout with friends?
Grab a beer & chill in Bui Vien Street.
No. 6 - 2nd Highest GDP Growth Rate in ASEAN
This means business opportunity is everywhere.
As a sales, it will be much easier for us to reach both quantity & revenue target
because the market TAM is also growing tremendously.
No. 7 - Geographic Location near Taiwan
Miss home?
Buy a airticket with a straightaway 3.5 hours direct flight to Taiwan.
It leaves no much room for homesick.
No. 8 - Top 3 Role Model Countries for COVID-19 precaution
Ease your anxiety of potential risk exposure on COVID-19 while hanging out or go shopping with friends.
Chances of getting COVID-19 are much much lower than in any other countries in the world.
Domestic travel ban is not applied in Vietnam, I believe.
No. 9 - Super Friendly to Taiwanese
We Taiwanese are proud of "Made In Taiwan", best brand to wear all the time.
They will also greet you with a big smile & support you.
